Prof Dr Osama Al Madani is the chairman of forensic medicine department and the deputy regional health director of allied medical services, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. He graduated from faculty of medicine, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia in 1987 then got the master’s degree in forensic medicine from Mansoura University, Egypt in 1993. He earned his M.D-PhD in forensic medicine from University of Edinburgh, UK in 1999 then clinical fellowship in forensic medicine from the same university in 2003. He is fellow of the faculty of forensic and legal medicine of the Royal College of Physician of London, 2014.

He is the chairman of the medical committee which consider cases transferred from the courts. He served in General Directorate of Health Affairs as deputy regional health director of planning and development from 2014 -2017 then till present as deputy regional health director of allied medical services. From 2014- 2018, he served as chairman of complaint panel in Dubai Health Care City Authority.

In 2005, he founded the Saudi board of forensic medicine and served as the chairman of scientific board committee and exam committee in Saudi commission for health specialties (SCFHS), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also served as chairman of the scientific committee for postgraduate continuous medical educational and chairman of the committee for the promotion of certified consultant doctors, Ministry of Health, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia

He is the former president of Saudi legal medicine society and founder president of the international association of law and forensic sciences. He is member of International Academy of Legal Medicine (IALM) and member of National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME).

From 2001 until present, he serves as clinical assistant professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology, faculty of medicine. From 2013 until present, he serves as clinical associate professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, faculty of medicine, Saudi Arabia. From 2017 till present, he served as chair professor of Criminal Justice College at East China University of Political Science and Law and as visiting professor at College of Medicine & Forensic, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China.

He has published several research articles in the field of forensic medicine and pathology in the international journals. He has authored and co-authored several books. He has supervised many PhD theses internationally. In 2002 he was nominated to representing Saudi Arabia in the United Nations human rights and committees against torture. From January 2009 until present, he serves as executive editor of medical toxicology and legal medicine journal of AIIMS. From January 2011 until present, he serves as international editorial board member of Egyptian journal of forensic sciences.
